Preying on pigeons, cats love it. Preying on goldfish, cats love it maybe even more. Are you one of those cat lovers who is secretly quite curious and excited to see how a cat will manage to conquer and devour its prey? But, what if the supposed goldfish victim drives a real battle tank with which it can blast any potential furry threat from its socks? That seems not so far-fetched as it may sound. Especially not when reading Cameron Duke's article in Live Science. He reports on the fish operated vehicle (FOV) which is invented by doctoral student Shachar Givon at the Ben-Gurion University of the Negev in Israel. This inverted submarine actually consists of a plastic aquarium mounted on a small platform with wheels. A single goldfish in the aquarium could pilot the vehicle simply by swimming. So, what will cats now do when goldfish can potentially drive battle tanks? My take, cats will keep being smarter and will start flying anti-tank aircraft!
