From a Tree to Home
Ryder’s story began most extraordinarily. One day, Roger was out on a bike ride in Stockton, California, USA, when he spotted a kitten perched on a tree branch. Without hesitation, Ryder, ready for her first ride, walked right down the branch and into her new dad’s arms. Many adventures were to follow with Roger having a lot of time because of retirement and both of their outgoing spirits.
The very next day after being rescued, Roger took her to the vet. The vet estimated Ryder to be around six weeks old, so it was decided to celebrate Ryder’s birthday on May 26, 2022. That weekend, Ryder got her first tiny harness from PetSmart. Ryder's dad suspects it was meant for a guinea pig because it was so small! But Ryder didn’t mind. She enjoyed the new experiences and was ready to get out there.
The Adventures Begin
Ryder quickly became a beloved companion. They shared everything from bike rides to camping trips. One of Ryder’s first adventures was a memorable trip to Half Moon Bay, where she visited the local brewery. The people in the brewery immediately fell in love with Ryder and wanted to take many pictures and post them online. This is where Ryder’s fame began and her Instagram account was created.
Ryder’s calm demeanour and love for people makes her lovable wherever she goes. She enjoys visiting breweries, meeting new people, and even learning some sign language from a group of deaf patrons at a brewery in Sacramento — Ryder’s outgoing personality and love for socializing opened up a world of opportunities and connections.
The Cool Cat Life Style
Ryder’s not just a social butterfly; she’s also a foodie. She enjoys occasional seafood and chicken treats, though her main diet consists of lams urinary tract dry food (sometimes even a bit of beer from her dad). Her favourite snacks? Temptations and churros. Ryder also loves playing fetch, shaking paws, and exploring the backyard with her cat brother Rowdy. The backyard is fortified with what her dad calls the Cat Fence-In, this way they can play without other animals getting in and it keeps the two cats inside as well.
One of the most remarkable aspects of Ryder’s life is how she brings people together. Whether sitting on a barstool at a brewery or meeting fans at the farmers market, Ryder spreads joy. Her Instagram page not only showcases her adventures but also educates people about cat care, adoption, and the benefits of Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) programs.

The future is bright for Ryder and her dad. They’re planning more camping trips along the coast of California, and even a kayaking adventure is on the horizon. Ryder’s not afraid to try new things, especially with her dad by her side.
