Expanding Our Global Cat PR Agency
It has become a warm tradition in CatSwoppr’s still young existence that at the end of December, I present a recap of what we have achieved and experienced in the past year by giving back to cats.
Let’s begin with Global Cat PR Agency CatSwoppr, our most active and operational branch. From the start of 2024, to emphasize and further show what we do for free for cats and nonprofit cat organizations, we branded ourselves even more as the first Global Cat PR Agency in the world.
This past year, we gave back to cats by reporting the stories of 42 cat clients. We were thrilled to find stories about cats and nonprofit cat organizations from cities we haven't yet covered before, such as Doha, Qatar; Dubai, United Arab Emirates; Oradea, Romania; Goa, India; and Makati City, the Philippines. We have also helped clients from places like Singapore, Leeuwarden, the Netherlands; Montréal, Canada; Islamabad, Pakistan; and Moscow, Russia.
In 2025, we aim to feature more cat stories from continents like Africa and Latin America, since we have only featured one story from Kenya and one from Brazil. Please let us know if you know any cats or nonprofit cat organizations in those areas who would be interested in sharing their stories!
In addition to accepting cats from new countries, we continue to seek out fresh concepts and formats for our Global Cat PR Agency. Previously, we ran a popular series called "Cat of the Week," which always featured a poll for "Cat of the Month" which gave each nominated cat equal prominence.
This format was established by our former Indonesian team member and content creator Cyrilla. At this moment, due to lack of volunteering team members we have temporarily paused the “Cat of the Week” format.
We are looking for a new team member for content creation in 2025 who is enthusiastic about helping us to make, produce and publish comparable material and entertaining, playful, cat-driven, and captivating cat content.
This year, we also launched the CatSwoppr Official Cat Models format. Our team member and visual designer Waka, a Japanese student in Finland, came up with this concept.
In 2025, we still encourage cats from all over the world to become part of our network and to serve as our official models, which means they can show up in our entertaining and educational content, such as the weekly Cat Facts/Cat Tips!
Visual Style
We have been upgrading the appearance and feel of our Instagram since our Turkish graphic designer/artist Ömür left in the middle of 2024. She had been with us since 2022 and had since gone to Berlin. We are very grateful to our current visual designer, Waka, and to our former team member and designer, Nisan from Turkey, who have been expanding on CatSwoppr’s visual legacy that Ömür left us. We now have more graphic designs to pick from and the overall images are more consistent thanks to Waka and Nisan's great efforts.
CatScanR App Prototype
This year we have continued developing our CatScanR app. Although the app's programming and development have not proceeded as quickly as we had intended due to certain circumstances, we have come closer to achieving our goals.
At the moment, our Turkish team member and UX/UI designer Meriç has taken over some of the UX/UI design from our former team member Nisan, who previously worked on it.
In 2024, we created a brief YouTube video clip that illustrates how the CatScanR's works. Our goal is to create more reels in 2025 showcasing what you can do with the CatScanR app and which problems regarding cats you can solve by using it, but also the extra pawsibilities that the app will give to you as cat lover to strengthen the bond you have with your cat and other cat people.
For now, we believe it is more crucial to continue assisting cats, telling their stories, promoting their causes, and producing pawsitive, uplifting content though.
To emphasize that we are here to completely disrupt the existing one-way cat sitting platforms that profit from the cat sitting fee, another reel was created. You can view this reel on YouTube here.
Business Development
In terms of business development, we tried to see whether the Achmea Impact Accelerator was interested in a collaboration with CatSwoppr’s CatScanR. We were turned down with almost no feedback at all. It didn't harm us because we're still building and paying back an investment ten times over isn't a priority or problem for us right now.
Additionally, we communicated with Tommy the Cat, a company that makes grain-free cat food, to establish a partnership that would help them create stories about the cats in Dutch shelters which receive some of their food donations. Regretfully, this did not work out despite several emails back and forth and a wonderfully designed one-pager proposing a collaboration.
It is a bit of a pity because our sole purpose is to give back to cats, particularly also those in shelters, to which we frequently draw attention, like in our articles about Sun Animal Rescue in Bursa, Yasam Animal Rescue in Bursa, and The Friends of Cats Association in Oradea.
In the last quarter of the past year, Purina's Unleashed Accelerator invited us to the Pet Tech event in Singapore on November 27, 2024. Unfortunately, my schedule was too hectic and constrained as I was overseas to make it to the meetup. However, I believe that Purina and I, speaking on behalf of our CatScanR app and our Global Cat PR Agency CatSwoppr, will undoubtedly meet in person eventually someday soon.
Nevertheless, some new connections were made by me during a sporty Founders and VC Meet and Mingle organized by, amongst others, Xendit and OCBC Ventura, in Jakarta, Indonesia. I participated in my first-ever Pilates class at FTL Gym Gading Sunter. It was a lot of fun and a purrfect chance for me to network with other folks in Indonesia's startup community. To be clear, we are always up for any pawsible collaboration in 2025, particularly when it comes to highlighting cats in shelters that need of adoption. With our Global Cat PR Agency, we are also open to exploring other endeavors in which cats are central. Our blogs and videos keep on being available for any cat-related content and activity!

Expressing My Sincere Appreciation to My Team Members, Our Clients and Community
Last but not least, I want to thank everyone who contributed this year to CatSwoppr and the CatScanR app development. Even more, I also want to thank all of our community followers and clients of the Global Cat PR Agency for giving us the opportunity to share their stories and highlight these stories in entertaining blogs and reels to inspire cat lovers worldwide.
I could not have achieved all that we’ve done for cats and nonprofit cat organizations in 2024 without the collaboration of both my current and former team members. Therefore, much gratitude for your exceptional contributions in 2024 dear Eric, Ha, Izzy, LinFu, Ömür, Cyrilla, Nhi, Valeria, Ana-Maria, Zahra, Nisan and Souhaila. I have no doubt that cats and nonprofit cat organizations everywhere are appreciative of you and the help you have provided to them.
A lot of appreciation and love also goes out to my present team members Roman, Pia, Waka, Meriç, Mara, Aura, Siobhàn and Flavia. In 2025, we'll keep working together to make the globe a more attractive environment for cats!
